u9's - Our annual Ward & Burke u9 Festival of Hurling took place on Sunday morning with the arrival of 250 kids to our Clarinbridge club accompanied by some amazing sunshine. Overall, 24 teams took part from clubs all over the country represented by Kilmacud Crokes (Dublin), O’Loughlin Gaels (Kilkenny), Ballybrown, Mungret, Na Piarsaigh (Limerick) Kiladangan (Tipperary) and Athenry, Ballinderreen, Cappataggle, Castlegar, Craughwell, Tommy Larkins. The future of hurling is bright with great displays throughout the day, including from our own three Clarinbridge teams. Well done to our players. A major thank you to all our Coaches and Parents / Volunteers who helped host this event which created a thoroughly enjoyable day of hurling echoed by the extremely positive feedback from all the travelling clubs.
U11's - Big news is the U11s winning the famous Joe Delaney cup! On Saturday, our U11’s and U10’s travelled to Ballincollig in Cork to compete in the Joe Delaney cup. With 3 x teams of 11 kids, Clarinbridge competed against Na Piarsaigh, Ballincollig and Bishopstown. Standards were high, but fortunately we came out on top of a thrilling event. The roof nearly came off the bus from all the singing on the way home! Well done to all the kids involved.
Community Games Final - Best of Luck to the u11 team and management who will take on Portumna in the u11 Final at 10am on Saturday morning in the Community Games Final. If you are free, get out and support the lads!!!
Co. Minors - Hard luck to the Galway Minors especially our own Ronan Murphy & Oscar Fitzpatrick who are part of the Galway Minor Panel that were defeated in extra time by Tipperary in the Electric Ireland GAA All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship Semi-Final last Saturday 15th June in the TUS Gaelic Grounds in Limerick. They showed great spirit and a questionable red card didn't help the team in any way!!
Kilmacud Senior 7's - Hard luck to the two teams and senior players who travelled to Dublin on Saturday last to take part in the Kilmacud 7's Competition. There were 8 Galway teams in the 16 Teams that made up the competition with one of our teams making it all the way to the Final against neighbours Craughwell. On the day it wasn't to be but a great day out none the less. The Seniors will now prepare for Sarsfields in the League final the w/end of the 29th/30th June
