One Week In – Let’s Protect Our New Astro & Ball Wall

What a first week it has been 🙌

It’s been fantastic to see the level of activity, energy and interest around the new Astro and Ball Wall. From our youngest members right up to adult players, the facility has been in constant use – exactly what it was designed for.

Thank you to everyone who has embraced it so positively.

However, if we want this facility to last and deliver real long-term value for the club, we all need to play our part — especially when it comes to footwear.

The astro surface is a significant investment in our club’s future. The wrong footwear can cause premature wear, flatten the surface, or damage the fibres. If that happens, the lifespan of the pitch reduces dramatically.

✅ Permitted Footwear:
Standard boots with plastic studs
Standard boots with moulded studs

❌ Not Permitted:
Astro runners
Trainers
Everyday shoes
Boots with blades
Boots with metal studs

These restrictions are in place to protect both the surface and the players using it.

We’re asking all players, coaches and parents to please check footwear before stepping onto the astro. Visiting teams should also be reminded in advance.

One week down and the feedback has been hugely positive — let’s make sure we look after this facility so it continues to serve the club for many years to come.
