Starting today, we will be chatting with our senior team in the ‘Get to Know’ series where we will be getting a little more insight into their thoughts on hurling and much more! First up is Evan Niland.
Team Position: Forwards
Why do you love playing hurling? I love the relationships that come from playing hurling. You can’t beat time spent with teammates after a big win because you all appreciate the work that has gone in.
Who is your favourite hurler and why? Eddie Brennan. He is retired now but he would be my favourite player growing up. He was so skilful, fast and always performed on the big days.
Best advice you ever got from a coach? ‘’If it’s coming high have them ducking, if it’s coming low have them dancing’’ - Billy McGrath
Away from hurling what’s your favourite way to relax? I like to watch sport, movies and spend time with friends.
Three items you always have in your fridge? Milk, eggs and chicken
Favourite place? At home
Watch out for more from the ‘Get to Know’ series next week. Big thanks to Evan for speaking with us today!
