Clarinbridge GAA is delighted to confirm that the Club has been allocated €150,000 in the latest round of Sports Capital funding, announced today. The funding will be used to further develop Club facilities including extra dressing rooms, a gym and an outdoor classroom for the benefit of the Clarinbridge community.

The Club's sports capital application comes on the back of extensive fundraising by the Club and the Clarinbridge community over the last few years and has been facilitated by the Club finally taking full ownership of the grounds from the Department of Agriculture in 2021, in an initiative led by Chairman Bernie Conlon, previous Chair Noel Quinn and many others. It is also in the context of a huge increase in demand for Club facilities, not least because of an explosive increase in female participation, which this sports capital funding is intended to further encourage.

Bernie Conlon, Chair of the Club said "This is another landmark day for the Club. The Sports Capital funding is the first the Club has received in 17 years and will allow us to continue the development of the facilities that are essential for a rapidly expanding and dynamic club. We will be launching a new initiative to support these developments soon."

The Club's Sports Capital application was developed by a group consisting of Peter Boland, Ciaran Burke, Bernie Conlon, John Diskin, Conor Lawless and Aidan Quinn. That group and the Club wish to thank Minister for Sport Jack Chambers, TDs Ciaran Cannon, Noel Grealish, Hildegarde Naughton, Éamon Ó'Cuív and Anne Rabbitte, Senator Ollie Crowe and Councillor Martina Kinane.
